About Inspire

National Institute of Technology, Srinagar has been entrusted with responsibility of conducting
the INSPIRE (innovation in science pursuit in inspired research) Internship programmes from
16-20 March, 2013 by the department of Science and Technology, New Delhi. The 5 day science
internship programme is held to motivate and inspire the talented students of the valley to take
up science and research as a carrier.
Top scientists of India including the Bhatnagar awardees and global icons of science including
Noble laureates, vice chancellors, eminent scientists of International repute will address our
brilliant students during the 5 day programme. The students will also be exposed to hands
on experience in advanced laboratories at NIT Srinagar. An exciting and innovative way of
introducing young children to the mysteries of science through hands-on interactive experiments
will be part of the programme. Science internship programmes fall under the umbrella of what is
commonly called informal science learning. Recent studies show that informal science learning
is one of the most effective ways students learn science. We hope our passion and dedication for
this innovative programme will prove to be the fruitful for our brilliant students. Our INSPIRE
internship programmes of 2012 has grown its stellar reputation under the dynamic leadership of
Hon’ble Director Prof. Rajat Gupta and Chairman Prof. M.D.Mufti along with sincere efforts of
our unbeatable team. Last year, brilliant boys and girls have awesome experiences here. They
develop superb skills while at camp and bring that enthusiasm and knowledge home with them.
We will reproduce some reflection.
For young students, science programmes can introduce them to many different areas of science and give them the confidence and inspiration to embrace science in their higher studies. Science camps can also be the opportunity to explore a branch of science that might not be available in their school, like aeronautics, hydroponics, atmospheric and origami, or to cover a topic more in depth than they'd otherwise be able to. The combination of science curriculum and engaging projects and activities creates an enriching opportunity and fosters learning and creativity among our genius students.
For attending INSPIRE programme, students need not to pay any amount either to the school or to the organizers. Expenditure towards travel (to and fro), accommodation, food, stationary etc for all students and all the days will be taken care by NIT, Srinagar. Parents, Principals, teachers concerned and students are requested to remain in touch with the co-convener Dr. S Rubab (drseeminrubab@gmail.com) and our regional co-ordinator Mrs. Saika Sajid who can be reached through saikasajid@gmail.com or to our district coordinators for admission related matters.
Students shortlisted for the programme will be required to stay in the campus for the entire duration for which they will be provided free boarding and lodging facilities by the NIT Srinagar. However, for local students there will be shuttle buses from Tourist center to Venue. In view of the limited number seats applications will be shortlisted on merit basis.
